Made from early-picked Colombard grapes grown in the rugged Klein Karoo and fermented cool to preserve fine white fruit aromas, the wine is double distilled in a 100-year-old copper still and matured for 12 years in a mix of old Limousin oak and Portuguese Port casks. Deep amber in colour with reddish copper hue, the nose presents layers of ripe stone fruit, caramelised pear, chamomile, and toasted pecan. The palate is beautifully structured and textured, offering flavours of dried apricot, orange marmalade, rooibos tea and a hint of floral honey. Exceptionally smooth, with a long, seamless finish of warm spice, cedar and dried citrus peel. A poised, distinctive and expressive South African brandy.
